Evaluation Team Facilitator

The Evaluation Team Facilitator, ETF, is usually the first person contacted by parents, hospitals, early intervention centers and others when a hearing loss is diagnosed and specialized educational services are required for a student. The ETF will arrange for all appropriate assessments to be done and will chair the meeting where parents, school staff and evaluators share the results and make recommendations for the student’s educational program. The ETF is responsible for writing the IEP (Individualized Educational Plan) and will monitor the delivery of services recommended.

Once a year the ETF meets with parents and school staff to review each student’s progress and to develop a new annual plan.

Every three years, the ETF arranges for a comprehensive re-evaluation of each student.
