Behavior Specialist

The behavior specialist works closely with all classroom teachers to develop behavior management plans and interventions to maintain students within the classroom setting. This role also requires very close and frequent communication with parents and families to develop behavior plans for the home and to help families connect with Community resources. The behavior specialist also works in conjunction with the Horace Mann Connection Team, Evaluation team and school psychiatrist to ensure the social/emotional well being of students. In order to maintain a safe and peaceful environment within the Horace Mann, the behavior specialist enforces the use of the School Based Rules, BPS Code of Discipline and School Safety Plans at all times.
