Successes

George is proud of the work he does and feels good when people tell him that they like the buildings he has designed. When he drives through a neighborhood where he as worked, he feels a sense of accomplishment when he notices the different buildings that he has helped to design.

Challenges

George believes that an architect is a problem solver and he enjoys the daily challenges he faces when doing his job. He is currently involved in a project at the Rhode Island School for the Deaf where he is designing a building that will allow for communication to be fully accessible for the Deaf. Although there are many structural and financial challenges that go along with this kind of project, he works with a team of consultants, and together they figure out the best plan to address the issues.

Advice to Horace Mann Students

“You can be successful. Follow the advice of your teachers and your parents. Every day is important, so look not only to the distant future, but set short-term goals and try to accomplish them one step at a time. Before you know it you will be successful.”
